Gure Ahaleginak

Gure Ahaleginak, located in Orduña, is surrounded by its oldest vine, from which it takes its name. In the 19th century, the place where the bodega is set, the neighbourhood Ibazurra, was known as "La ruta de las bodegas —the wineries route".

This txakoli is produced in Orduña, under de Guarantee of Origin of Vizcaya. It is a family production that treat each wine bottle as one more in the family in question. It has a lemon yellow colour, with touches of green, and a crystalline appearance, it has a fruity aroma, it is light, with its own character, and it has a clean aftertaste and a characteristic personality which the mountains and climate present in Ciudad de Orduña provides its vineyards.

The winery offers visits since 2007 and is managed by Arkaitz Larrazabal, the oenologist. The visit includes:

Artomaña Txakolina

Artomaña Txakolina, S.L., the main winegrower in the Designation of Arabako Txakolina-Txakoli de Álava, began the project of building a bodega in 2005 with the aim of making its own txakoli by using innovative methods and producing a wide variety of high quality wines while meeting the needs of niche markets left unattended. With the opening of these premises, a family project of three generations initiated by our ancestors is accomplished, who have been linked mainly to the primary sector and secondarily to vitiviniculture.

In the 2009-2010 vintage, the winery launched its first wine made with a selection of the best quality grapes of the local variety “Hondarrabi Zuri”. Despite this being the main variety, it also presents the organoleptic nuances provided by varieties “Gros Manseng”, “Petit Manseng” and “Petit Courbu”, resulting in a white txakoli with marked varietal character and an alcohol content of 12º, fresh, brilliant and fruity. The introduction of cryomaceration in the winemaking process strengthens the aromas that escape when uncorked.

The txakoli is sold under the brand “Eukeni”, and pays homage to the work carried out by the pioneer of the current Designation of Origin, Arabako Txakolina, in trying to recover the tradition of making txakoli in the Region of Ayala. His children and nephews/nieces, by means of this humble homage, are trying to keep his legacy alive so it can be transmitted to the next generations.

Beldui Txakolina

The first scriptures found show that the production of txakoli in Laudio was already common practice in the year 964 amongst the farmers in the valley. In 964, which is when there is the first proof of txakoli in this valley, the Monastery of San Victor y Santiago de Gardea starts trading its first Txakoli after being donated several vineyards. Over a thousand years later and in the same place, we now find the winery Beldui.

From an 18th century country house, today emerges the winery.

With its own 7-hectare vineyard, it was one of the first wineries to recover the lost tradition of winemaking in this region.
